I’ve previously talked about why you should stop wasting your free time and the importance of maintaining momentum.
Tony Robins is the most popular Personal Development coach and Motivational speaker in the world. In a recent Twitter Post he stated:
“Will You Create A Masterpiece or Interpret Life Through the Paintings of Others?”
This reminded me of Mihaly’s discussion of using your free time in the book “Flow”. Mihaly talked about how most people prefer to waste their time flipping through cable TV and consuming entertainment. They are too caught up and require constant stimulation. When they’re bored alone with their thoughts, they have a difficult time thinking for themselves.
Of course, there’s nothing wrong with consuming entertainment. The point is to revaluate the amount of time and energy you invest in consuming other people’s music, work, and art and instead invest more time in creating them yourself.
Ask yourself, “What is the majority of my time spent doing?”.
At the end of your day before you go to bed, take 5 minutes to write down a sort-of self-reflection about your current day. Split it up to what you did right, what you did wrong, and what you can improve on.
Are you any closer to your goal?

I like to think our life as a sculpture and us the artists cnostantly shaping it.
